What’s not to love about a raclette grill? In case you have thought of a reason for throwing a party and you came up empty handed, here is my solution: just ask your friends over for a raclette style party! In this post, I want to tell you my thoughts on a raclette grill I just bought, called the Swissmar KF-77073. A raclette grill is a pretty wonderful cooking machine, since it allows you to melt cheese on one cooking area, and cook meat and veggies on another placed on top. I will tell you what I like about this unit, what I am not crazy about and why I think you should try it, too.
What I like
This is really a raclette grill intended for a party. Designed to accommodate 8 people around it at the same time, there is no reason to worry about leaving anyone behind. I have already used this model for several parties, and everyone was really enchanted with it. What I also really like about it is that it is made to last. It is durable, the materials used are clearly of the highest quality and you do not have to worry about replacing it after a few uses how, unfortunately, it happens with other cooking items. By the way, although the name of this kind of cooking device may sound French to you, this raclette grill is made here, right in our home backyard. It was introduced to the US following a Swiss recipe, but that doesn’t make it un-American.
Now you may be wondering about how well this one behaves when it comes to cleaning. I have to tell you that things are simply great! Because the cooking surfaces are completely non-stick, you only need to wipe them clean with a damp cloth and you will be done with this fast and easy. Worried about picky guests? So far I have to meet one that is not simply in love from the very first sight with this raclette grill. Because you have separate temperature controls for each seating, each of your guests can choose how to cook their meal.
What I am not so crazy about
It is hard for me to say that I don’t like something about the Swissmar KF-77073. Because, in all truth, I love it! However, since this is a honest review, and I have no reason to lead you on, here is something I noticed after hosting a few parties. The pans for melting cheese in the center tend to be faster than those on the side, so you may want to play musical chairs with your guests a bit until everyone finds the perfect spot.
Do I recommend this raclette grill? I sure do! If you are just looking for something to make your parties the talk of the neighborhood, I think the Swissmar KF-77073 is just it!
